Scheduling polls you control
Rallly hosting on Appbox gives teams a private place to create meeting polls, collect availability, and send invitations with their own SMTP provider.
What you get with Rallly hosting
Simple group scheduling with the backing services already packaged for Appbox.
Group availability
Create polls where participants mark the times that work, then compare responses in one shared view.
Shareable poll links
Send a poll link so guests can submit availability without needing access to your Appbox account.
Event invitations
Use email invitations and notifications once SMTP is configured, keeping scheduling communication tied to the poll.
Bundled PostgreSQL
The Appbox package includes a local PostgreSQL 14 database for accounts, polls, votes, and instance data.
Garage storage
File uploads use bundled Garage S3-compatible object storage, so you do not need to provision a separate bucket for the default install.
Install controls
Set the first admin account, support addresses, SMTP credentials, and public registration behavior during install.

Deployment notes
What to know before you install Rallly on Appbox.
SMTP required
Rallly needs an SMTP provider for login emails, invitations, and notifications; Appbox collects those values during install.
Registration control
Keep public registration closed for a team-only instance, or enable it when users should be able to create their own accounts.
Persistent services
PostgreSQL and Garage run with the app package so the default install has persistent database and object storage services.
Internal backing services
Appbox serves the web app through public HTTPS while the database and object storage bind internally.
Rallly on Appbox vs hosted scheduling SaaS
| Feature | Rallly on Appbox | Hosted poll SaaS |
|---|---|---|
| Data location | Polls, accounts, and uploads live on your Appbox instance. | Data lives in vendor-operated cloud infrastructure. |
| Setup model | One Appbox install with SMTP credentials and bundled backing services. | Create a hosted account and accept the provider's defaults. |
| Participant workflow | Share poll links, collect availability, and finalize dates from your instance. | Similar polling flow, but tied to external account, pricing, and data policies. |
| Operations | You control updates, SMTP provider, registration, and backup policy. | The vendor handles operations but also controls limits and roadmap. |
